About Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp

Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp provides a unique experience for students in El Dorado County. This week-long camp offers a supportive environment for campers to develop their fine arts skills and explore new ones. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at 3,600 feet, it provides fresh air and a break from daily routines.

Campers choose a specialty major and an elective, along with daily recreation and a nightly campfire program. Sugarloaf is an overnight camp running Sunday to Saturday across two sessions. Many of the staff members are local educators and Sugarloaf alumni.

Eligibility: Students must have completed fifth grade and not yet completed twelfth grade by July of the camp year.

The camp is administered by the El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE). Priority is given to El Dorado County students, though out-of-county applicants are also eligible. The camp takes place at the scenic Sly Park Environmental Education Center in Pollock Pines, California.
